Knowledge management system adapted to educational environment: Mathematical area at the higher level

Abstract

This research work presents the implementation of a Knowledge Management System (KMS) adapted to the educational environment for teachers in the mathematical area. A three-tier architecture with interface services, process services, and knowledge base services was considered. The knowledge services layer combines the ontology model with the case model to structure and store the teacher's mathematical knowledge. The results indicate acceptable averages of 80% in problem-solving efficacy and 51% in search-process precision, but with a time-based efficiency problem-solving of just 41%. Regarding the result of the correlation between precision-efficacy and precision-efficiency, a moderate positive correlation was found with a probability of error of less than 5%. The usability result indicates an average score of 70 points SUS (System Usability Scale), or, expressed in words, the user experience is “ok”.
