CORRELACIÓN DEL USO DE REDES SOCIALES CON EL RENDIMIENTO ACADÉMICO DE ESTUDIANTES DE NIVEL SUPERIOR

Resumen

La Web 2.0 y los servicios que ofrece predominan en la sociedad con acceso al WWW; su implementación en la docencia podría ser cada vez mayor, pero no es así. Por lo que el objetivo de esta investigación es determinar la correlación existente entre el uso de las redes sociales (RS) y el aprendizaje de estudiantes universitarios. Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo-correlacional, bajo el supuesto de que existe un estrecho vínculo entre el uso de las RS y el aprendizaje en el nivel superior. Se encuestó a 152 alumnos universitarios; el análisis y procesamiento de los datos recopilados dio como resultado una fuerte correlación entre las RS, cuando son utilizadas como soporte en sus estudios, y el rendimiento académico (r = 0.78); llegando a valores cercanos a 1 (0.91) en la correlación con la variable tiempo que pasa en RS (apoyo al aprendizaje) y sus calificaciones. La implementación de RS por parte de alumnos de nivel superior debe ser enfocada a facilitar sus tareas académicas; los docentes tienen que considerar su uso como apoyo en el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje.
