Abstract

This research was conducted at the Facultad de Informática Mazatlan. An instrument was applied, a survey in the form of a questionnaire to students. The objective of the research is to know how the use of social networks affects the behavior of students. The results of the research show that the behavior of the majority is not modified by the use of these tools. The worrying thing is that 33% of study subjects often postpone daily tasks to use time in these tools, as well as a smaller number of students who often or always postpone the completion of their daily tasks to remain connected to their social networks. In addition, they like to check their social networks at night, to the degree of disclosure. On the other hand, the results of the research show that the use of these does not affect their tasks, school work or grades too much. It was also determined that the favorite social networks of students are Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp.
