The implementation of cloud storage is an important and necessary step for the development of functional tools in the modern data centers of higher education institutions, since they provide access to information from multiple devices and anywhere in the world, that is why there are commercial offers for storage clouds such as Dropbox, Box, Skydrive and many others. This article bases on the use of Owncloud as one hardware of open code that allows to share files between academic groups, designed to meet the demands of information unified of the different activities of the teachers and students of the Career of Computation and Computer science of the Agrarian University of the Ecuador. Likewise, after the process of implementing cloud storage, the experimental evaluation summarizing the implementation and results obtained from the use of this application is presented.
