Keywords:
Electronic Voting, Academic Council, Web System, Electoral ProcessAbstract
This paper presents a web system of electronic voting for the election of representatives of the collegiate bodies belonging to the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Cuajimalpa Campus, which are instances that are responsible for decision making at the division level and at the unit level. The representatives participating in the election are professors, students and members of the administrative staff of the university. The aim of the system is to encourage a greater participation of the academic community in the university electoral processes, since it has been observed that there are several reasons why voting in person has not been very popular among professors, students and members of the administrative staff. A comparison of existing electronic voting systems is shown and the current process of electing representatives for university collegiate bodies is described. The methodology used to develop the system is presented, which includes the requirements gathering, the analysis and design, and the implementation of the system.
