Editorial for the Special Issue of the Andean Workshop on Wireless Communications and its Applications

Abstract

Nowadays, Wireless communications are pervasive in modern society and leverage the fast growth of new services, and this trend is likely to increase for the foreseeable future. Nonetheless, wireless networks have become more complex because of the number of different services that must support. Therefore, research is more critical than ever to ensure the successful deployment and exploitation of wireless networks and related services. This special issue includes ten papers presented at the first Andean workshop on wireless communications and its applications, which show the research carried out in the Andean region to develop this vital telecommunications area.
