Abstract

This work presents the results of a research under the mixed methodological approach made to data provided through a survey of university students, specifically the information systems engineering career at the Facultad de Informática Mazatlan at the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa. The instrument yielded results that infer about the relevance of the Moodle virtual educational platform in upper-level students, specifically in those studying in the area of computer science. The students of this research perceive an improvement in their academic performance despite not having adequate knowledge about it and never having received training on its use by the institution or the teacher. They consider the flexibility of this service to be an advantage, since it is easy to access from any place and at any time. 58% of the students surveyed are satisfied with Moodle, but 42% are dissatisfied due to various factors such as lack of time, failure in resources (low bandwidth Internet, mainly), lack of knowledge to manage the platform.
