Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the advantages or disadvantages offered by the implementation of educational software to support the learning of first grade students in the Mathematics subject. Determining if it is true that in this way there is an extra motivation of the student when using ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), making learning easier and more fun. Three surveys were applied to teachers who teach, at least, the subject of mathematics in the first grade of primary school; responsible for the computer centers (where the computational technology is located); and to the students of the first grade of primary school. Due to the time limitation that was had to carry out this investigation, these instruments were applied in three elementary schools, two shifts in each, of the city of Mazatlan, Mexico. Achieving in importance from our perspective that the determining pillars of good learning are based on: (1) The design of adapted activities, such as using educational software when teaching a class. (2) The design of the materials that allow to guide and facilitate learning. (3) Learning by playing.
